أللَّهُمَّ يَا مَنْ لا يَرْغَبُ فِي…
أللَّهُمَّ يَا مَنْ لا يَرْغَبُ فِي الْجَزَاءِ،
وَلاَ يَنْدَمُ عَلَى الْعَطَآءِ،
وَيَا مَنْ لاَ يُكَافِئُ عَبْدَهُ عَلَى السَّوآءِ،
مِنَّتُكَ ابْتِدَاءٌ، وَعَفْوُكَ تَفَضُّلٌ،
وَعُقُوبَتُكَ عَـدْلٌ، وَقَضَاؤُكَ خِيَرَةٌ،
إنْ أَعْطَيْتَ لَمْ تَشُبْ عَطَآءَكَ بِمَنٍّ،
وَإنْ مَنَعْتَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَنْعُكَ تَعَدِّيا
تَشْكُرُ مَنْ شَكَرَكَ وَأَنْتَ أَلْهَمْتَهُ شُكْرَكَ،
وَتُكَافِئُ مَنْ حَمِدَكَ وَأَنْتَ عَلَّمْتَهُ حَمْدَكَ،
تَسْتُرُ عَلَى مَنْ لَوْ شِئْتَ فَضَحْتَهُ
وَتَجُودُ عَلَى مَنْ لَوْ شِئْتَ مَنَعْتَهُ،
وَكِلاَهُمَا أَهْلٌ مِنْكَ لِلْفَضِيحَةِ وَالْمَنْعِ،
Transliteration
al-laahum-ma yaa mal-laa yar-ghabu fil-jazaaa-i
wa yaa mal-laa yandamu a'laal-a't'aaa-i
wa yaa mal-laa yukaafi-u a'b-dahoo a'laas-sawaaa-i
min-natuka ab-tidaaa- wa a'f-wuka tafaz''-z''ul
wa u'qoobatuka a'd-l wa qaz''aaaw-uka kheearah
in aa'-t'ay-ta lam tashub a't'aaa-aka biman
wa im-mana'-ta lam yakum-man-u'ka taa'd-deeaa
tash-kuru man shkaraka wa anta al-ham-tahoo shuk-rak
wa tukaafi-u man h'amidaka wa anta a'l-lam-tahoo h'am-dak
wa tas-turu a'laa mal-law shi-ta faz''ah'-tah
wa tajoodu a'laa mal-law shi-ta manaa'-tah
wa kilaahumaaa ah-lum-minka lil-faz''eeh'ati wal-man-i'
Translation
O God, O He who desires no repayment!
O He who shows no remorse at bestowal!
O He who rewards not His servant tit for tat!
Your kindness is a new beginning, Your pardon gratuitous bounty,
Your punishment justice, Your decree a choice for the best!
If You bestow, You stain not Your bestowal with obligation,
and if You withhold, You withhold not in transgression.
You show gratitude to him who thanks You, while You have inspired him to thank You.
You reward him who praises You, while though You have taught him Your praise.
You cover him whom, if You willed, You would expose,
and You are generous toward him from whom, if You willed, You would withhold.
Both are worthy of Your exposure and withholding,
